    Hello,
I’ve read briefly about the SPCA in Cecil County and I want to help. Are there any employment positions available? Can we have an all new staff come in to turn things around?? I’d be more than willing to interview for a possible management position with the SPCA!! Do you know how I would go about applying for a position with them?
    Thank you for your time!

yes i am very upset i am an animal lover and i love ALL animals no matter what and i would be interested in a job or volunteer at the spca.they have made the adoption fees so high that some good pet owners cant even afford those fees to adopt and get the animals out of the shelter.how can we help??? we can help by hiring new staff with compassion and get a better adoption program in force to help these poor animals find loving homes.animals are helpless they need life and love and good homes too same as children!!!!and people that actually care!!!missy elkton pet lover

    Good Afternoon,

I run Angel Acres Horse Haven Rescue and am completely outraged at the information that is contained in the affidavit that I read on your blog. I can not even describe to you the depth of my rage, I had to force myself to read the entire paper. I am glad that Theresa had the courage to speak up for the animals at the shelter. We (the rescue community is small) have heard rumblings for quite awhile about the CCSPCA, we are in York, PA and have no first hand knowledge, but as you may know, the horse and animal rescue world is a small world.

Thank you for working to get to the bottom of the problem at the shelter. We are happy to offer assistance in anyway you feel we can help.

I hope this issue has been solved as it’s been awhile since the last posting. I was looking for a puppy in the summer of ’08. I called an add in the Cecil Whig. The ladie told me she had mixed breed puppies. She gave me directions to her house in Galena, her name was Jeanne. When I got there she was gromming a dog in her house so her tennent showed me the puppies. She said they were from two different litters that came from Delaware. She said they “RESCUDED” them. She was selling the puppies for 375.00 After talking it over with my friend who went with me I decided not to get one. I remember her telling me that Jeanne was the president or boss at the CCSPCA. I thought then as I do now, why aren’t these pups at the CCSPCA and why is she selling them. I feel this woman should be in jail and treated the way she let the animals be treated. Is she still working there or has she been fired? I am going to take a ride over to the CCSPCA to see how I’m treated, and yes the price for adoption is way to much. It just makes it impossible for some people to get an animal.
