OBama’s Secret Deal With PhRMA Could Have Adverse Reaction On Kratovil and Democrats.

Not able to get the Insurance industry, doctors, hospitals, lawyers, or any other powerful industry allies to buy into the Socialized Medical Program, the OBama administration reached out to the pharmacutical industry (through their representative, PhRMA) to help get support for the Democratic socialized medical program.

The deal between the President and the pharmacutical industry was secret, and now we know why. It seems that there was a quid pro quo, in that, the Pharmacutical industry, through its representative, PhRMA, would agree to back the President’s health care plan provided the pharmacutical industry was not required to absorb more than an $80 billion cost under the President’s health care plan.

No one told the Democratic leadership in Congress about the President’s secret deal. So, Congress began looking at about a $160 Billion Dollar cost to the Pharmacutical industry under their proposed plan. When the pharmacutical industry cried foul and said “We had a deal”, the democrats said we don’t know what you are talking about and we were not part of any deal. Pharma released a statement to the effect that if the White House was going to make deals and not live up to them, then no one would be making deals with the White House in the future. They argued that an industry might just as well fight it out with the administration.

Once the President’s staff admited there was a deal, the search began for the details of the deal. It was not long before it was discovered that the President had thrown the Seniors under the bus in order to get his deal with the pharmacutical industry. The deal to limit the financial hit taken by the pharmacutical industry to $80 billion dollars was premised upon the promises to not put certain price controls on drugs in the medicare program and not to allow the importation of drugs from Canada. Both of these concessions by the President fell most hard upon senior citizens. When these details became known there were problems for the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP), who seniors look to as their most powerful representative in the of congress. It turns out AARP had come out in support of the President’s health care plan. Yet, now they are backing off and stating they had never actually committed to the plan.

Many of us have seen or heard the pharmacutical industry commercials telling us to call and thank congressman Kratovil for his vote to bring health care to children who otherwise would not have had it.

It would certainly appear that Congressman Kratovil is benefiting from PhRMA moneny and PhRMA is looking to benefit from concessions which will adversely affect the senior citizens whom Congressman Kratovil represents. Thus, I believe it is fair to ask that Congressman Kratovil repay PhRMA the value of the commercials they have paid for on his behalf. I don’t expect that to happen but I believe we should be able to know that there is no perceived benefit going to our elected congressman as a result of some secret deal that directly hurts a large portion of our community. A good place to start to show that belief is by having the Congressman show us he will not accept PhARMA money meant to curb the political damage done by his recent or future votes.

I would think it would also be prudent if our congressman would question the President as to how many other secret deals have been made and who else are being thrown under the bus in order to shove this ill conceived socialized health care plan upon the citizens of the United States.

    Crazy Old History Teacher,
Delegate Smigiel has been deliberately using an apostrophe on the President’s name for quite some time. It appears he is trying to make a connection between President Obama and Governor O’Malley. Delegate Smigiel detests them both. But perhaps the errant apostrophe will just add more confustion to the so-called ‘birthers’ who claim President Obama was not born in the US– so is he really of Irish descent?

    Dear Crazy Old History Teacher,

Thank you for the correction. I have been writing so much about O’Malley that I inadvertantly threw in an extra apostrophe, being Irish I certainly meant no insult to the Irish.

I do find it interesting that I write an article talking about secret deals between the pharmacutical industry and the President which involve over $80 Billion Dollars and you choose to comment on my misplaced apostrophe? What about the millions of Senior citizens who are being sold out by the Democrats as a result of the secret deal involving the medicare prices for prescriptions and the promise not to allow the importation of drugs from Canada? Does the fact that our Senator and Congressman are getting the benefit of free commercial advertising from PhRMA not bother you?

I guess in the gran scheme of things my misplaced apostrophe is a lot easier to deal with the fact that the Great Emperor OBama, has no clothes, that his ideas are just renewed efforts at remaking liberal socialism into progressive socialism. No matter what you call it, or how you dress it up, failed ideology and policy will continue to be failed ideology and policy because it fails to acknowledge the facts relevant to humane nature and economics. People will work harder if they are allowed to keep the benefit of their labor. Buisness will prosper when it is allowed to operate on a Capitalistic, supply and demand, profit theory.

We have the best health care system in the world and there is no reason to be destroying it with the Obama health care plan.
Certainly an intelligent liberal like yourself could have found something more substanitive to attack in my piece other than a misplaced apostrophe.
